A play-based, full-immersion environment where children learn naturally—discovering what it means to be a global citizen by living the culture through music, stories, and daily interactions.

Our dual curriculum blends English academics for school readiness with Spanish language and cultural learning, fostering curiosity, confidence, and empathy.

 

🇪🇸 Spanish Cultural Curriculum:

Children experience natural bilingual immersion with native Spanish-speaking educators, exploring Spanish-speaking cultures through the same 9 pillars:

🔹 1. Language & Literacy

  • Spanish vocabulary woven into daily routines
  • Songs, stories, and simple conversations in Spanish
 

🔹 2. Geography

  • Learning about Spanish-speaking countries across Europe, Latin America, and beyond
  • Exploring maps and flags
 

🔹 3. History

  • Simple stories about Spanish and Latin American heritage
  • Child-friendly introductions to cultural traditions and origins
 

🔹 4. Traditional Music & Dance

  • Listening to flamenco, salsa, and Latin rhythms
  • Movement activities inspired by traditional dances
 

🔹 5. Ethnicities & Cultural Clothing

  • Exploring traditional outfits such as flamenco dresses and regional attire
  • Understanding cultural diversity across Spanish-speaking countries
 

🔹 6. Landmarks

  • Learning about places like La Sagrada Familia, Machu Picchu, and Plaza Mayor
 

🔹 7. Influential People

  • Stories about figures like Frida Kahlo and Pablo Picasso (age-appropriate and inspirational)
 

🔹 8. Traditional Dishes

  • Exploring foods like tortillas, arepas, empanadas, and paella through play kitchens and visuals
 

🔹 9. Art

    • Bright, expressive art inspired by Spanish and Latin American styles
    • Color, pattern, and storytelling through art

Cultural Festivals & Featured Activities

Celebrating Hispanic Culture Year-Round

We incorporate major Hispanic/Latino festivals into our curriculum to provide immersive cultural experiences:

DĂ­a de Muertos (Day of the Dead):

A Mexican celebration (Nov 1-2) honoring and remembering ancestors. Activities include creating ofrendas (altars), making paper marigolds, and learning about calaveras (skulls).

Las Posadas:

A nine-day Christmas tradition (Dec 16-24) primarily celebrated in Mexico and Central America, symbolizing Mary and Joseph’s search for lodging. Activities involve songs, small processions, and breaking piñatas.

Día de los Reyes Magos (Three Kings’ Day):

Celebrated on January 6th across many Spanish-speaking countries, marking the arrival of the Three Wise Men. Activities include baking/sharing the Rosca de Reyes (King’s Ring Cake) and traditional gift-giving.

Cinco de Mayo:

Celebrated mainly in Puebla, Mexico, and widely in the US, commemorating the Mexican Army’s victory over the French Empire. Activities involve learning about Mexican history, music, and regional dances.

Hispanic Heritage Month:

Sept 15 – Oct 15) An annual period celebrating the histories, cultures, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Activities include focused study on different countries, flags, and national heroes.

Inti Raymi (Festival of the Sun):

An Inca religious ceremony celebrated in the Andes (especially Peru and Ecuador) around the winter solstice (June). Activities include learning about Inca mythology, the sun, and traditional Andean music.
